So from the topic of "Xfire: Then and now" I got news for you

You say no one is working on bringing back the client, but there are people who are working on it, namely PFire, which brought back the servers and all the clients can connect to it.

https://github.com/darcymiranda/PFire if you wanna check it out.

Very interesting - thanks for pointing that out!

It will be nice to see a big of the old mixed with the new. I was shocked to find Xfire being alive again in any compacity. Given how 2020 has been, it was a very nice surprise.

I had no idea this was happening. I was a member a long time ago. Came back to it being gone. Had no idea what happened. When I saw this one pop up I had to join. Knowing the old community might get back together again, well this is great news!

So, we also have a discord if anyone cares to join to watch or see the development go on. https://discord.gg/QrpXYfxK

I might check out the Discord server tonight. I haven’t been on Discord in a while. Was avoiding it because of Cyberpunk 2077 spoilers and was generally having PC issues.

Say someone has access to an actual server and downloads the server side emulator and knows and modifies it to connect to their dedicated server, would there be any opposition to someone hosting a dedicated global xfire server? Asking for a friend… Namely me lol

I wanted to check out the Discord server, but it says the invite is invalid

a new discord link would be cool :joy:

There you go.

If you go to the github link Alaura posted, there is still a working Discord link in there <3

Love to see it. I got it working now and looking forward to see the development of it

Woah that’s awesome

Wow, I did not think I would be able to see that again. Very cool to see. I’ll join the Discord soon. Just have to reinstall the thing. I was using it on my browser but my settings made it bug out.
